Last Wednesday my husband and I delivered 227 sock monkeys to their new home! Actually, their temporary home at the Firefighters Burn Institute – located in this fabulous old fire house.
The employees who accepted the sock monkeys from us were blown away. They had no idea that each one would be different and unique. And so darn cute!!
I wish I could have taken a picture of each and every monkey. There were purses, and blankets, monkey outfits, hats, socks, shoes and earrings.  These sock monkeys were better accessorized than I am!  And they were literally from all over the world. Amazing. Most were from the United States, but we had contributions from Germany, Australia, UK, Canada… everyone coming together to make a difference. Don’t ever be deceived into believing you can’t make a difference, because we have proven otherwise. Coming together makes a big impact.
The Preschool Burn Camp has more sock monkeys than they could use. I heard talk of having enough monkeys for next years camp and the camp for the older kids. Who doesn’t love a sock monkey!? I miss the monkeys and the excitement from every package that arrived (so does my three year old, Luke.)
I am amazed and blessed by each one of you who participated in project 4; the time and effort that you all put into doing something for someone else… it’s love.
Blessings and hope to you all.

I am so glad you had such a huge amount of ‘Sock Monkey’s to raise money for your cause and I am sure they are real glad to be in their new home. Thank you for your time in organising this. Perhaps we will see some photographs.
Thank you, Marjorie, for putting project 4 all together and for all of your hard work on this!
We had a lot of fun making the monkey for this project, and in the process, I learned HOW to make sock monkeys. As a result, my daughter got a monkey as well. My grandmother made me sock monkeys when I was a child, and now I have passed that on to another generation. I love that accomplishment, and the thought of those children seeing all those monkeys at the burn camp and getting to choose one brings a tear of joy to my eye.
Thanks so much once again for organising such a wonderful project, for such a good cause. I am honored to have been part of it
How wonderful! And so…… what is next?
I am so happy I could help with this! I love making sock monkeys!
I can’t wait to see what project #5 will be!
Who knew 227 pairs of socks could transform into such joy?! Thanks for coordinating this project, Marjorie!
I am so thrilled that I was a part of this project. Each project I do makes me feel good! So…..whats the next project???????
