project 3 recap

28 Jul Posted by jade in miracle foundation, project 3 | 26 comments

It is amazing to see what a collective group of individuals can do to make a difference. The time that was taken. Each stitch that was made for a child.

The Miracle Foundation came on Sunday and picked up all of the handmade goodies for the children in India. There were 2,614 handmade items donated from all over the world. From the United States, Canada, Switzerland, New Zealand, England, Scotland, The Netherlands, and Malaysia. Just to name a few. From sewing groups, knitting groups, preschool classes, children, and adults.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. From the children in India, thank you. I believe we collected so much stuff they are going to have to crate it to India. I will post pictures of the children with their gifts as soon as I receive them.

Project 4 is right around the corner. I’m hoping to announce it within the next week or two. Until then, take care!

Sigh, I misread the mail date. I thought it had to be mailed by the 25th, not received. So a local pregnancy shelter will receive lots of homemade blankets and a few dolls. Someday I will get things mailed off at the correct time.

Oh, how wonderful! It’s amazing to see everything stacked together like that.

I totally spaced on the deadline for this and I have five little knitted hats still sitting here in my knitting basket, along with one that is half done. I will hang on to them for the next project that requires knitted cotton hats…

I stumbled upon your blog today and I have to say how humbled I am by what you have been doing. All your volunteers have created such amazing beautiful handmade treasures for all the kids.
For years I used to help out with newborn kids in need,I had to give up due to health issues of my little boy!I do hope I can help out though I am not half as talented as the other wonderful crafters out there,I will try.
Keep up the wonderful work and good luck.
