faith. hope. love.

It takes faith, to believe in something bigger than yourself. To give unconditionally, simply because you know that someone else needs it. To love a child you’ve never met, in a country you’ve never visited. To give hope, to an orphaned child.

Eren is back from her trip to Nicaragua and here are the pictures you have been waiting for. Breathtaking.

For all of you who participated in project 2. Having just heard of Craft Hope, but feeling a calling to participate. Trusting your instincts. Taking time out of your busy day. To make a doll, or a few, for these children. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you to Eren. Who graciously contacted me about the dolls and the orphanage. Who trusted me to help spread the word to all of you. Who counted dolls, read notes, traveled hundreds of miles to be with the children. To be a witness.

Thank you to all of you who blogged about Craft Hope, put a button on your sidebar, told a friend, rallied your troops. Thank you.

I, my friends, am just a servant. You answered the call. You spread hope to these beautiful children. You continue to believe in Craft Hope. And for that I am forever grateful. This is just the beginning. We are making a difference.

Now hurry over to Eren’s blog and read about her travels with the dolls. Her testimony is life changing.

Okay, I wasn’t planning on crying….but the second I saw those little babes, lying on the simplest of sheets, with a dear doll next to them?….my eyes teared up.
    And those sweet smiles?
I also love the picture of the girls going through the huge suitcase trying to pick which one is their favorite. What a jackpot!

Gorgeous pictures. Thank you for posting!

This is so wonderful…the photos are great but they also break my heart…to see children the same age as mine…you feel so helpless…and at the same time it is so beautiful that people have committed to making a difference :)

I am almost speechless. I see these sweet little girls with their dollies, and I ache to do more. I am so thankful that I found you, ladies, and had the opportunity to help with project number 3. These photos are precious. What a wonderful way to teach my little ones about the blessings they have, and how we can share our love with some of “the least of these”.

I just found out about what an amazing thing you are doing. I know it is too late for to do anything for Project 3. Do you have a Porject 4 in mind that I can get started on. I would love to help. Thank you for giving us a chance to help those in need.

man I wish I knew about craft hope before the July 25 deadline BUT I am excited and extremely ready for the next project….!!!

  23. happy zombie responded on 23 Jul 2009 at 3:10 pm #

First I saw Jenny’s (allsorts) post and my heart swelled… and now this post has me crying. Crying happy buckets. Also pangs of regret… that I didn’t get my dolly in to you on time. She’s waiting patiently in case you do this again.

My hat is off to you. You truly have rallied the troops and made it possible to craft hope. When I see your project count on your sidebar, the number count is actually double. One gift = two gifts. One to the receiver, and one to the sender.

  24. Darby responded on 23 Jul 2009 at 3:17 pm #

Jade…. I can’t find words for the amazement of the work of all involved. What a precious blessing to these children. I’m in on the next one… for sure. I can’t make the July 25th deadline but I’m doing the next one!! Praise the Lord for your work and the work of all of those involved. May those precious children feel loved and valued and may those precious dolls bring them love and happiness!!!!

Amazing! Eren’s blog entry was so beautifully put. Tears, truly.

I have been watching the Project 3 Count go up, up, UP exponentially in just the past week. Incredible. I’m glad to have contributed, even though it seems like such a small contribution.

I can’t wait to hear about the next project!

  28. monica responded on 23 Jul 2009 at 11:17 pm #

The pictures are beautiful…and I want to see more! Is there a flickr page to go to see more of the girls? I can only imagine their delight when they were able to select the dolly that melted their heart.

The deadline for this project snuck up on me and we didn’t finish our quilts. They will have to wait for the next one.

I found your site through Homemade by Jill and I am so excited to be able to get involved in your next project. I could barely read the testimony of Eren because of tears filling my eyes. What a wonderful story, I only wish I could have found you sooner. I am looking forward to helping!! I have added your button to my blog and have a group of women ready to help!

Oh my gosh. I’m in awe at the generosity and creativity displayed through these projects. I planned on contributing, but thought mine wouldn’t be “good enough”, so I didn’t. How I’m regreting it now. The pictures of those little angels sleeping with the dolls touched me so deeply. I’m so inspired, I don’t want to miss another project-even if what I make is not perfect.
    Bless you all!

This is the most AMAZING idea EVER! I’ve done some similar projects – most recently the gift of ‘hope’ I gave to a friend who has cancer. Crafting is not only creative, it can be loving, healing and hopeful.

Keep up this wonderful idea! I’d love to participate next time.
