You take my breath away. You really do. Those of you who have signed up to make a doll, or several dolls, for the Casa Bernabe Orphanage in Nicaragua are doing such a wonderful thing. I have been overwhelmed with the response and are more grateful and appreciative than you can imagine. Eren has promised to take lots of wonderful pictures for us so you can see where your sweet dolls end up. Also, Eren has found someone who has graciously agreed to pick up the extra baggage charges to get the dolls to Nicaragua. What a gift!

Speaking of dolls, these sweet angels were the recipients of Craft Hope’s first project. We made pillowcase dresses to send to the Pan de Vida Shelter in Mexico. Look closely, all of the girls are wearing their dresses!

Some of the dresses were made into shirts, depending on the need. Such sweet, sweet children.

A huge thank you to those of you who joined Craft Hope on it’s maiden voyage and made dresses for these children. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Also, it’s still not too late to join our second project, making dolls and sending them to Nicaragua. You have until June 13th! If you are interested in participating, simply leave a comment and I’ll send you a follow-up email with specific information as well as the shipping address.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Wow! Jade, I’m getting all teary seeing these photos and those smiles… what a joy it was to participate. With old pillowcases, of all things.
I downloaded a doll pattern today, so I can’t wait to get started on the next project. Thank you so so much for your work in organizing this. Really, you are such a sweetheart; it’s an honor to call you my friend. xo
Oh my, what a wonderful thing you are doing! I just linked over from The Toby Show. I’d love to be a part of this, but I have almost zero crafty-type skills. Do you know of any patterns for dolls that can be done by an amateur, and by hand? If so I’d love to give it a try.
That’s fantastic!!!

I’m on my second doll and I’ve enrolled some people from my knitting group
I am interested in helping.
They are so beautiful!
I made my first doll tonight to send to you. Thanks for this great opportunity. It feels good to help in some way and it was a great lesson to start teaching to my daughter (of course I had to make her one too).
What a great project. I have a few dolls done!
Please send me the address where I can send my doll
I have one already made with brown hair and brown eyes!
I would love to make some dolls! I have done the Black Apple Doll pattern in the past, and would really like to try a boy version of it too. Thanks for providing this opportunity!
I would love to make a doll, maybe two. I am kind of a beginner sewer, but would love the chance to do something.
I have never made a doll, but always wanted to, so count me in! I’ll do a little girl and a little boy. This is such a great project Jade, thank you so much for sharing it. It’s the perfect mother-daughter project, too!
